International growth
Let's see what this one is.Wellhub is in 13 countries and could have been in twice as many.
Why did you decide not to do that?Do we really have to keep growing in order for companies to be successful?
There is an expression I quite like, which is Power without control is useless.
What I see is that growth without profitability is useless.
Profitability is what will enable you to endure much more over time.
That's where the Wellhub story takes place with what we are doing and how we are doing it.
You have an idea and you expand that idea to many places.
Or you have a good idea and you keep improving it.
You don't have to visit 50 countries in your first five years of life, because that idea, as you improve it,what you are achieving is achiving a lot of value and nurturing it much faster.
That is the story of Wellhub. That is our story. We had a fantastic idea more than a decade ago that is going to revolutionize the world of sports through a B2B model where we weren't just going to go to companies by selling them a service, but by generating added value for them.
Hey, look, you have a membership with this, all your employees will be able to enter whenever and wherever they want to thousands of sports venues.
Today, our idea has evolved considerably. We are no longer just sport, we are more than just that trip to the gym,we are a wellness center.
That is what we've been able to do.It is in the same market, for example, in Spain, not only to attract people who were interested in going to a gym,but to attract all those people who really want to make a change in your well-being,whether physical, nutritional, spiritual, etc.
That's what evolution means to me.That's why we haven't been so aggressive in growing in different countries.
However, we are now in 13 countries and growing, but we prefer to look at it from the point of view of how we can be better every day.
After a decade of working together, we have a much more consolidated project.
We may grow in many more countries in the next five years than in the last five, because now is the time to mature,You know, hey, look, we have the culture, we have the product, the service.
It's time to expand much more quickly. And at the business level, I have had the opportunity to experience all that progression of startups and moving from a market where scalibility truly was the ultimate goal to something that right now, look,no matter how scalable your business is, if you can't make it financially,if you're not breaking even, what good is it to you?
And we have seen this a lot in recent years. How many companies have grown, grown, grown And they have never managed to achieve that economic performance?
Because the first thing that a business owner or entrepreneur or any finance team, obviously, and any sales team, needs to keep in mind is is that for things to last, must undoubtedly have an economic break-even point.
That is why it is so important to focus on that growth, but while always ensuring that growth leads to the expected profitability.
Never aim below that, because if you do, you have no future.
